I thought they were only a problem in New York City and Los Angeles.
In 2007 the New Jersey State Police and Attorney General’s Office identified that all 21 counties in New Jersey are now affected by Criminal Street Gangs.
Surprised? Of course not, you see it everyday at different levels in your school and on the streets.
Should you be concerned or even afraid of Gangs?
A Gang uses intimidation to get what it wants. It’s also backed by the strength of it’s numbers and members. On a one to one basis, in an alley or a desolate part of your school, it can be frightful.
NO Gang, however, is as strong as the people who want to keep Gangs out of Morris County. . . Including You!
You now have the ability to text anonymously to help remove the threats, intimidation, robberies and drug related crime from Gangs. This can be done one student at a time and in the privacy of your home or ANYWHERE you feel safe texting.
Anonymity means there is no way for anyone to know who you are.
Will gangs continue to grow in Morris County and become as powerful as in New York City and Los Angeles? Good Question.
You are a citizen of Morris County and you have a duty to help make your environment safe for yourself, your friends and your family.
