Morris County Sheriff's Crimestoppers

Morris County Sheriff’s Crimestoppers has been in existence since 1986. During that time, we have been instrumental in providing a communication tool that allows the public to deliver information to law enforcement without direct involvement. Tips leading to an arrest or indictment entitle callers to a cash reward.

Crimestoppers is an information-gathering agency and is NOT 911.

911 should be reserved for emergencies and crimes in-progress when an immediate response is needed.

Crimestoppers expands the eyes and ears of law enforcement by using the combined cooperation of the public, the media, and law enforcement. One of the most important benefits of Crimestoppers is the Anonymous Tip Line, Email Submission Form and Texting. The anonymity of the caller is paramount to the existence of the program. If the identity of the caller were ever revealed, the integrity and success of Crimestoppers would be severely compromised.

Since 1986, not a single caller’s identity has been exposed, even when challenged by the court system. When a tip is received by phone, email submission form or texting the individual is given a confidential code number. This code number is the only way Crimestoppers can associate the informant to their tip.

The strong relationship with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies is a testament to the power of Crimestoppers.
